Bad Baby 14yo Anyone Dealt With Ankle Sprains In An Older Dog?

Anyone dealt with ankle sprains in an older dog? - bad baby 14yo

I have a 14yo Sheba Inu / Chow mix who suffered an ankle sprain before 2 weeks. 'm sure it's a sprain that is going to the vet immediately for consideration. He received an injection of steroids and sent home with Rimadyl for pain and swelling, and began, much better.

A week later (when at rest in bed - we were very careful with him) stood up and re-injured his ankle and then placed on Rimadyl for a week, always with good results. She is not cured by any means, but much better.

This morning, stumbled as she walked out the door of the bathroom and fell. She lifted her injured leg at the beginning (because they do not provide any weight upon him), but then began to run. I have and ice ... Let's see if it deteriorates again after allY.

Now my question (so far, but she wanted to use to bottom) - Someone Hock brackets to the support of the ankle after a sprain? Has it helped or just stuck? I can not stand the thought of his being in constant pain from another injury and do everything they can to prevent it, but both times there was nothing I could do to prevent it.

It belongs to our beloved son and want to make it as comfortable as possible.
